The Washington State Department of Natural Resources is looking for an experienced forester to step into the North Alpine Unit Forester role.

This position provides professional level forestry expertise on the Teanaway Community Forest and forested State Trust Lands in Chelan and Kittitas Counties to 1) sustain long-term ecosystem and economic viability; and 2) ensure long-term access to the forest lands and the benefits derived from them. This position helps Southeast region achieve the agency’s mission through strong leadership, thoughtful decision making, and excellent planning.

The North Alpine Unit Forester leads a team of foresters that are driven and motivated to implement treatments aimed at increasing forest health and resiliency across the landscape. For this unit, it is critical that the Unit Forester develops and implements the 5-year forest management plan for timber harvest and silviculture activities.  These activities must meet a variety of objectives, including: forest health, wildlife habitat, recreation, cultural resource protection, and wildfire resiliency.
