Fourteen existing published and unpublished fire history (or stand age) tree-ring datasets were compiled into the Alaska Fire History Database. For each of the plots in the database, fire dates, possible fire dates, and tree establishment dates were summarized (as applicable) for all the samples collected from the plot. The compilation of multiple existing fire scar and tree age tree-ring datasets into a database provides both the opportunity to identify regions underrepresented in the database, and the ability to utilize the standardized data to conduct broad-scale analyses to identify potential spatial and temporal patterns.
